Jeffery Neil Wood, 62, of Cave Spring, died Monday evening, December 18, 2017, in a Rome nursing facility following an extended illness.

Mr. Wood was born in Anniston, Alabama July 5, 1955, a son of Mrs. Barbara Cotton Wood and the late J. H. (Bud) Wood. Mr. Wood was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, and was a construction and farmer worker for most of his life.

Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his father, J. H. (Bud) Wood on January 14, 2014.

Mr. Wood is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jennifer House and her husband John of Plainville, and Ms Amy Wood of Rome, and by his mother Mrs. Barbara Wood of Cave Spring. Five grandchildren, Jeffery House, Jazmine House, Bill House, Cain House, and Marissa Hill; two brothers, Anthony Wood and his wife Patsy of Centre, and Tracy Wood and his wife Misty of Silver Creek; and two sisters, Mrs. Diane Smith and her husband Roy of Aragon, and Mrs. Lisa Thomas and her husband Jeff of Rockmart also survive.

Memorial services for Mr. Wood were held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Mountain Home Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Trawick officiating.

The family received friends at the church Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.

In leiu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
