Mr. Durden, 59, of Cave Spring, died Sunday afternoon, December 20, 2015, in  Rome hospital following a sudden attack suffered earlier at his residence.

Mr. Durden was born in Atlanta on June 15, 1956, a son of the late Bobby Durden and the late Mildred Smith Durden.  Prior to being disabled, Mr. Durden was a carpenter.

Survivors include his wife, the former Sharon Fuller, to whom he was married March 10, 1992; two sons, Bobby Durden and Mark Durden; a daughter, Freida Durden, and a step daughter, Christy Ferrie-Wade. A brother, Ted Durden, a sister, Shelia Gucie and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Durden were held Wednesday December 23 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at John House's Cave Spring Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Byars officiating. Interment followed in Rome's Oakland Cemetery. The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
