Harold Anthony Smith, 79, of Cave Spring, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, January 2, 2024 at his home.
A native of Toccoa, Georgia, he was born there February 5, 1944, a son of the late Joseph Payton Smith and the late Evelyn Bea Kelley Smith. Mr. Smith had made his home in several places, including Dallas, Georgia and Leesburg, Alabama. Prior to his retirement, he was associated with several route sales companies, the last being Old Fashioned Foods.
Mr. Smith was a member of the Bethany Christian Church in Dallas.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brother, Pat Smith and Mike Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Eva Nell Andrews, to whom he was married December 16, 1977 and five children, Steve (Pam) Prewett of Rockmart, Mark (Leigh) Smith of Buford, Stephanie (Jeff) Crider of McConough, Randy Prewett of Dallas, and Greg (Tammie) Smith of Winder. Twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Janice (Garland) Shaft of The Villages, Florida, Mrs. Becky (Robert) Paul of Covington, and Mrs. Libby (Joe) Grimland of Marietta also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Smith were held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ken Roberts officiating.
The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
