Wendy Elizabeth Poff

Ms. Wendy Poff, 66, of Centre, died Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023 at her daughter’s residence in Centre following an illness of several months.

The former Wendy Elizabeth Hendrix, she was born in Newnan, Georgia on August 23, 1957, a daughter of the late Kenneth Edward Hendrix, Sr. and the late Barbara Jean Lee Hendrix. She was a graduate of the Cave Spring High School and attended Floyd Junior College where she received an associates degree in secretarial studies. Ms. Poff retired from the Cherokee Medical Center as a CNA.

She was married to Wendell Farrar Poff on September 30, 1985 and was preceded in death by him on their 31st anniversary September 30, 2016. Besides her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by three step sons, Mike Poff, Jeff Poff and Joey Poff, and by her sister, Sheri Denise Hendrix Townsell.

Survivors include her daughter, Amanda Starr and her husband Austin of Centre, and four grandchildren, Ava Starr, Auria Starr, Taylor Poff Young and Chase Poff. Her brother, Kenneth Hendrix and a daughter in law, Beverly Poff also survive.

Mrs. Poff was cremated and no formal services are planned at this time. The family will hold a private family remembrance at a later date.
