Mr. Marc Damien Chapman, 43, of Ringgold, formerly of Rome died Sunday afternoon in Ringgold.

Mr. Chapman was born in Rome October 30, 1973, son of Brenda Brown Chapman Brock and the late Robert Glenn (Bobby) Chapman. He attended East Rome High School and earned an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Floyd College. A former correctional officer at Hays Prison in Trion, at the time of his death, Mr. Chapman was a Lieutenant at the Silverdale Detention Facility in Chattanooga. A member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Mr. Chapman also loved football and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.

Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his father and by his step-father, Billy Brock, Sr.

Mr. Chapman is survived by his mother, Mrs. Brenda Brock of Lindale, and by three brothers, Tony Chapman of Charlotte, N.C., his twin brother, Mathew Chapman of Lindale, and Jody Chapman, also of Lindale. Two step brothers, Jerry Brock and his wife Judy, and Terry Brock, all of North Carolina and a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Chapman were held Saturday afternoon, July 22, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the graveside of the East View Cemetery with Rev. Jason Davis officiating.

The family received friends at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
