Mrs. Amanda Ashworth, 38, of Kingston, died Friday evening, April 28, 2017, at Emory Hospital after an ongoing illness.

The former Amanda Leigh White, Mrs. Ashworth was born in Atlanta on July 6, 1978 to Ray White and Cindy Sims White. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy from Shorter College and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Jacksonville State University. She was a teacher at Cave Spring Elementary, and a member of West Rome Baptist Church.

Amanda embraced life with unfailing wonder and excitement. She loved her children relentlessly and adored her husband. She was a daddy’s girl and her mother’s best friend. She was earnestly devoted to her students. Through her infectious smile and bright compassionate eyes, Amanda embodied God’s love. Strong yet humble, courageous yet gentle, Amanda was a hero to her children and students, and a model of faithful and generous service.

Mrs. Ashworth is greatly missed by her husband, Heath Ashworth, to whom she was married May 15, 2004, her children, Emi Kate and Hayes Ashworth, her father Ray White and his wife, Pamela, her mother, Cindy Sims, her brothers, Matthew White and his wife, Marisa, and their two children , Zoey and Ezra, Jordan Green and his wife, Molly, and their son Jack, and Tyler Green, her father in-law and mother in-law, Gary and Melita Ashworth, her sister-in-law Autumn Ashworth Kiser and her husband, Bryan and their son, Carson, and too many other friends and loved ones to be counted.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ashworth will be held on Tuesday afternoon, May 2, 2017 at 1:00 pm. at the West Rome Baptist Church with Rev. Jarrod Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at the Cave Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Phillip Sims, Christopher Sims, Jeff Eller, Drew Martin, Brandon Reese, and Josh Goss.

The family will receive friends at the West Rome Baptist Church Monday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.
