Mrs. Evelyna Louise Robinson

Mrs. Evelyna Robinson, 81, of Cave Spring, died Monday morning, October 2, 2017, in a Rome hospital following a short illness.

The former Evelyn Louis Wood, Mrs. Robinson was born in Spring Garden, Alabama on July 16, 1936, a daughter of the late Isaac Wood and the late Jennie Sherman Wood. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Pilgrims’ Rest Baptist Church and had attended Providence Baptist Church. A homemaker, after her children were grown, Mrs. Robinson was known for making biscuits at several Cave Spring restaurants.

Mrs. Robinson was married to William (Bill) H. Robinson on October 10, 1958, and was preceded in death by him August 31, 2008. Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Junior Wood, Charlie Wood, Ozie Wood, Franklin Wood, Bud Wood and James Wood, and by her sisters, Mrs. Mary Penney, Mrs. Betsey Robinson, and Mrs. Fannie Fowler.

Mrs. Robinson is survived by three sons, Len Robinson and his wife Sharon of Rome, and Randy Robinson and Lester Robinson, both of Cave Spring; and by five daughters, Mrs. Becky McCollum and her husband Ted of Silver Creek, Mrs. Teresa Hughes and her husband Charles of Cave Spring, Mrs. Mary Crider and her husband Tim of Centre, Alabama, Mrs. Susan Fricks, and her husband Tony of Cave Spring, and Mrs. Nancy Wiley and her husband Anthony of Rome. A brother-in-law, John Ed Robinson of Forney, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Barbara Wood of Cave Spring, ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a number nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Robinson were held Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. EDT at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Laney officiating. Interment followed in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers included Roy Robinson, Sheldon Robinson, Jerry Fowler, Charles Hughes, Anthony Wiley, and Jimmy Tate. An honorary escort included Ted McCollum, Tim Crider, and Tony Fricks.

The family received friends at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel Wednesday evening, October 4, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. EDT.
