Mrs. Sandy Joan Kovach, 61, of the Black’s Bluff Road, Rome, died Tuesday morning, August 29, 2017, in a Rome hospital following a brief illness.

Mrs. Kovach was born in Elk Park, Indiana, August 29, 1956, daughter of the late Bernie and Shirley Elting. Mrs. Kovach was associated with Universal Tax Systems as a computer and tax consultant.

Mrs. Kovach is survived by her husband, Michael Kovach, and two step-daughters, Mrs. Amy Thacker of Rome, and Mrs. Amanda Money of Alabama. Five step-grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services for Mrs. Kovach were held Friday afternoon, September 1, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with Dr. Robin Lindsey officiating. The family received friends prior to the services from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
