Mr. Leon Herman Hopper, 92, of Cave Spring, died Sunday morning in a Cedartown hospital following an short illness.
Mr. Hopper was born in Jacksonville, Alabama November 20, 1927, a son of the late Henly Hopper and the late Hattie Mae Shaw Hopper. Mr. Hopper served in the U.S. Army, and for a number of years was a sales representative for a mobile home manufacturer.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Hopper, Clay Hopper, and Bud Hopper, and by two sisters, Mrs. Ila Tullo and Mrs. Joy Smith.
Mr. Hopper is survived by a son, David Hopper and his wife Suzanne of Youngstown, FL; by two daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Dely and her husband Mike of Jasper, and Ms. Renea Attaway of Cave Spring, and by a brother, Shelton (Shep) Hopper and his wife Dorothy of Cedartown. Seven grandchildren, Aaron (Katie) Dely, Sarah (Eoin) Devlin, Samantha L. (Chad) Ciardeillo, Amanda L. (Neil) Rubel, David (Shea) McSpadden, Sherrie Dowdy, and Jaelyn Grace; ten great-grandchildren, Peyton Dely, Marley Dely, Addison Dely, Sydnely L. Ciardeillo, Mark V. Ciardeillo, Jacob Charles Rubel, London David Rubel, Law McSpadden, Haileigh Sealock, and Remmington Adams, also survive.
Memorial service for Mr. Hopper will be held Friday evening, June 19, 2020, at 7:00 P.M. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with several family members sharing memories. The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until the service hour.
