Mr. Charles Bailey

Mr. Charles William Bailey, Sr., age, 86 of Cave Spring, died Sunday morning, September 5, 2021, at his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Bailey was born in Tate, Georgia January 28, 1935, a son of the late Roy Bailey and the late Grace Harrison Bailey. Having made his home in Cave Spring since 2003, Mr. Bailey was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, having served his country during the Korean War, was a retired crane operator with the Operating Engineers Local #926 in Atlanta, and was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by two sons, Charles William (Ricky) Bailey, Jr. and Randall Bailey; by an infant sister, Carol Bailey and by two brothers, Bobby Bailey and Harold Bailey.

Mr. Bailey is survived by his wife, the former Sue Willis, to whom he was married November 24, 1989; by a daughter, Ms. Angie Bailey of Aragon, and by two sons, Homer Jeffery Bailey of Ball Ground and Anthony Bailey of Cave Spring. His step-children, Jason (Bridget) West of Cave Spring, and Mrs. Janna (Greg) Webb of Cave Spring, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. Bailey’s family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 2 P.M. until 4 P.M. Graveside services were held at the Round Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers included Jeyden Bailey Eaton, Matt Bailey, Trevor Bailey, Will Cox, Weston Cox, and Austin Webb. The Honor Guard of the Shanklin-Attaway Post 5 of the American Legion will provide military honors.
