Mr. Chris Jones

Mr. Chris Jones, 55, of Cave Spring, died unexpectedly Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his residence.

Chris Lamar Jones was a born in Rome May 8, 1967, a son of Mary Moore Jones and the late John Allen Jones. He was a graduate of the Coosa High School, and attended Coosa Valley Technical School where he was certified as a welder. Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed by Georgia Kraft/Inland Container in the sawmill division.

A kind hearted soul that enjoyed helping his family and his friends. Mr. Jones was a devoted Christian who loved to study God’s word in his bible. He was a devoted member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church and he loved his church and church family.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Allen Jones Feb. 1, 2006.

Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, Bethany Jones of Rome and his mother, Mrs. Mary Jones of Cave Spring. His sister, Betty Sue Hickman (Rob), two brothers, Joe Allen (Regina) Jones and Craig Jones, all of Cave Spring, and five nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 2:30 P.M. at the graveside of the Rehoboth Community Cemetery with his pastor, Rev. Dale Byars officiating. Pallbearers included Gary Fortenberry, Mason Bishop, Mike Wilkerson, Jonathan Orebaugh, Rocky Perkins and Rex Wilkie.

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from noon until 2:00 P.M.
