Edward Kenneth (Ed) Hendrix, Sr., 86, of Cave Spring, died Wednesday evening, December 22, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Hendrix was born July 22, 1935 in Newnan, a son of the late Charles B. Hendrix and the late Myrtle Velma Dingler Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix had made his home in Cave Spring since the sixties, was a book-keeper and was formerly associated with the Garner Brothers Construction Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring, was active in the Cave Spring community and was former member of the Cave Spring Historical Society.
Mr. Hendrix was married to the former Barbara Jean Lee April 15, 1955, and was preceded in death by her July 17, 2007. Besides his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Denise Hendrix Townsell on March 5, 2020; by two brothers, Clinton Hendrix and Donald Hendrix and by a sister, Mrs. Joyce Lovvorn.
Mr. Hendrix in survived by a son, Ken Hendrix and his wife Janie of Cave Spring; by a daughter, Mrs. Wendy Poff of Centre; and by four grandchildren, Ashley Hendrix, Tiffani (Jake) Colston, Cassie Hendrix and Amanda (Austin) Starr. Seven great-grandchildren, Austin Hughes, Chloe Hendrix, Jackson Colston, Dustin Hughes, Gavin Hendrix, Ava Starr and Auria Starr; two brothers, G. D. Hendrix and Melvin Hendrix both of Newnan, and a sister, Mrs. Anne Davis of Newnan also survive.
Memorial services for Mr. Hendrix will be held Monday, December 27, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring with Rev. Adam Colston, Rev. Jarrod Kinsey, and Rev. Jeremy Watson officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church Monday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the service hour.
