Mr. Joe Baxter, 84, of Dallas, died Sunday afternoon, October 31, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Baxter was born in Cave Spring, July 7, 1937, son of the late Casper Webster Baxter and the late Sarah Brewer Baxter. He was a graduate of the Cave Spring High School, was of the Baptist faith, and was employed by the Dixie Seal & Stamp Company in 1955, and retired from there in 1998 as the supervisor of the rubber stamp department.
Besides his parents, Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam Gable and by a great-grandson, Joee Kenerley.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his wife, the former Ruby Elaine Nunn, to whom he was married June 10, 1995; by one son, David Baxter of Cartersville; and by three daughters, Mrs. Karen B. Kenerley and her husband Ronald (Junior) of LaGrange, Mrs. Lisa B. Fowler and her husband Terry of Piedmont, and Mrs. Theresa B. Hassler of Dallas. Eleven grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Baxter were held Wednesday afternoon, November 3, 2021, at 3:00 P.M. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with Rev. A. J. Garcia officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of the Cave Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers included Terry Fowler, Junior Kenerley, Chris Walker, Dylan Hassler, Taylor Kenerley and Devin Brazil.
The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour.
