Mrs. Darlene Hunter, 72, of Cedartown, died Thursday morning, January 30, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. The former Darlene Jackson, she was born in Cedartown April 25, 1947, a daughter of the late Franklin Jackson and the late Martha Wiggins Jackson. Mrs. Hunter was of the Baptist faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Luke Jackson, Ben Jackson, Mack Jackson and Ralph Jackson; and by three sisters, Betty Jackson,, Rosalee Jackson, and Marie Bartlett. Survivors include her husband, Ruben Hunter: two daughters, Ms. Becky Patterson, and Mrs. Sherry Chapman and her husband Henry; and her son, Paul Hunter and his wife Jennifer, all of Cedartown. Nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Hunter were held Saturday, February 1, 2020, at 3:00 P.M. at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel with Rev. John Redden officiating. Interment followed in the family lot of the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers included Paul Hunter, John Chapman, Jonathan Davis, Sam McClanahand, Henry Chapman, and Colt Watson.
