Mrs. Donna McNiece

Mrs. Donna Marie McNiece, 79, of Rome, died Thursday morning, December 19, 2019 at her residence.

The former Donna Marie Edwards, Mrs. McNiece was born in Lansing, Michigan Jan. 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Melvin Douglas Edwards and the late Marie Ann Byron Edwards. She had made her home in Rome in Cave Spring for a number of years, having been associated with the Harbin Clinic and also running her restaurant in Cave Spring. Mrs. McNiece was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by twin infant sons, Lynn and Gwen McNiece, and by a brother, Doug Edwards.

Mrs. McNiece is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Kathy Heinrich and her husband Ken of Cartersville, Ms. Cindy McNiece of Rome, and Mrs. Sandy Nesbit and her husband Kevin of Leesburg’ and by five grandchildren, Branson Wingate, Blake McNiece, Kristina Croft, Alex Nesbit and Ryan Heinrich. Three great-grandchildren, Sawyer Wingate, Payton Belmore, and Chandler McNiece, a brother, Ronnie Edwards and his wife Janet of Michigan, and a sister, Mrs. Brenda McCuistion of Florida also survive.

Memorial services for Mrs. McNiece were held Sunday afternoon, December 22, 2019 at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. Brett Clements officiating.

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
