Mrs. Frances L. Clemones, 86, of Rome, died Saturday morning, September 9, 2023 in a Rome hospital.
The former Martha Frances Patterson, she was born in Columbiana, Alabama on August 22, 1937, a daughter of the late Clarence Claude Patterson and the late Mary Rebecca Whitener Patterson.
Mrs. Clemones had made her home in Rome for a number of years, and was married to the late William Clayton Clemones on November10, 1964, and was preceded in death by him on November 10, 1979. She was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church in the Morton’s Bend Community.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Jones Lee, Randel Lee and Junior Lee.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Martha Walters of Rome, Mrs. Diane Tant of Cave Spring, Mrs. Mary Stanley of Cartersville and Ms. Patricia Clemones of Rome. Ten grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Clemones were held Sunday afternoon, September 10, 2023 at the graveside of the Clemones’ Family Cemetery in the Morton Bend Community with Rev. Dale Byars officiating.
