Mrs. Nancy Jane Grasham Culver Oxford, 80, of Centre, Alabama, formerly of Cave Spring, died Thursday evening, August 12, 2021 in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Oxford was born in Rome, November 5, 1940, a daughter of the late Thomas Taft Grasham and the late Essie Kinsey Grasham. A graduate of Model High School, Mrs. Oxford was associated with Trend Mills for 10 years, later owning and operating an antique store and an ice cream shop in Cave Spring. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Oxford was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Grasham, and by a grandson, Heath Mayer.
Survivors include her husband, William Oxford, to whom she was married April 27, 1996; four daughters, Cristie Thomlinson of New Orleans, Susan Oxford Mayer of Salado, Texas, Cynthia Oxford of Columbia, South Carolina, and Lori Oxford Hart and her husband Dr. Charles Hart of Clay, Alabama; and one son, Wade Oxford and his wife Donna of Guantanamo, Cuba. Ten grandchildren, Payton (Jordan) Bowling, Haley Mayer, Heather (Andrew) Guilbert, Zack (Emily) Hart, Mary Frances Martin, Chaz Hart, Aren Oxford, Kane Oxford, Shoi Oxford and Ryan Oxford; two great-grandchildren, Aiden Guilbert and Oxford Bowling; and two sisters Mrs. Dorothy Marable of Rome, and Mrs. Ann Shahan of Cave Spring also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Oxford were held Tuesday afternoon, August 17, 2021, at 5:00 P.M. at the graveside of the Cave Spring Cemetery with Rev. J. L. Knight officiating.
The family received friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 3:00 P.M. until 4:45 P.M.
