Mrs. Peggy Ann Myers

Mrs. Peggy Ann Myers, 79, of Cave Spring, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning, February 15, 2022 in a Rome hospital.

The former Peggy Ann Pruitt, she was born in Cave Spring on February 24, 1942, the daughter of the late Paul Pruitt and the late Frances Cromer Pruitt. A graduate of the Cave Spring High School, Mrs. Myers had a beauty shop in Cave Spring for a number of years prior to becoming house parent at Georgia School for the Deaf for fifteen years. A former member of the First Baptist Church of Cave Spring, she was a member of the Live Oak Baptist Church.

Mrs. Myers was married to William Myers on October 24, 1987, and was preceded in death by him December 17, 2008.

Survivors include two sons, Robert (Brenda) Godfrey and Steven (LaVerne) Pruitt, and her sister, Mrs. Glenda (Wayne) Bozeman, all of Cave Spring. Six grandchildren, Raven (Levi) Siniard, Ramsey (Ben) Hughes, Steven (Sarah) Pruitt, II, Stevanie (Clay) Pruitt-Bell, Kayla (Coty) House and Josh Lee; five great-grandchildren, Laramie Hughes, Case Siniard, Oakley House, Steven Pruitt, III, and Mary Grace Pruitt; and special friends Jimmy Anthony and Cathy Smith also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Myers were held Friday afternoon, February 18, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. at the graveside of the Cave Spring Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Jennings, Mr. Terry Caldwell and Mr. Lester Jacobs officiating. Pallbearers included Steven Pruitt, II, Ben Hughes, Levi Siniard, Clay Pruitt, Coty House and Sammy Shumate. Honorary pallbearers included Johnny Pruitt, Ronny Pruitt, Sammy Smith, Phil Paxton, Greg Wingo and Tim Wingo.
