Mrs. Sara Miller Obituary

Mrs. Sara Miller, 96, of Denton, Texas, formerly of LaGrange, died Thursday, July 25, 2019 in Denton following an extended illness. The former Sara Savilla Humphreys, Mrs. Miller was born in Douglas County, Georgia November 25, 1922, daughter of the late William Capers Humphreys and the late Lillie Mae Overstreet Humphreys. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker most of her life, but after her sons were through school and married, she went back to school to become a nurse. Mrs. Miller and her husband lived in Daytona Beach, Fl. for a number of years, then in the LaGrange area until his death. For several years after that, she lived in Springhill, Tn., and later Denton, Texas. Mrs. Miller was married to Claude H. Miller, Jr. June 3, 1938 and was preceded in death by him June 16, 2011. She was also preceded in death by an infant brother. Survivors include her sons, Claude Miller of Denton, Texas, and Robert Miller and his wife Lois of Springhill, Tn. Ten grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be held Thursday at noon from the graveside of Roundhill Cemetery in Cave Spring with her pastor from Springhill, Rev. Mike Stalnaker officiating. Mrs. Miller will lie in state at John House’s Cave Spring Chapel and the family will receive friends there Thursday morning prior to the service.
